Tyrannus Angel Awards Announces 2026 Official Selection Honoring the Human Spirit in AI Film

Selected from 636 submissions across 84 countries, the films advance ahead of the October 24 awards presentation at AI Film Summit Los Angeles 2026.

LOS ANGELES, Calif., October 02, 2026 (PinionNewswire) — Tyrannus Foundation today announced the 34 films selected for the Tyrannus Angel Awards 2026, recognizing filmmaking that combines AI-assisted creative techniques with visual artistry and storytelling.

According to the Tyrannus Foundation, the 34 films were selected from 636 submissions representing 84 countries. Final award recipients will be announced on October 24 during AI Film Summit Los Angeles 2026 at City Club Los Angeles.

Background of the Tyrannus Angel Awards

The name Tyrannus draws inspiration from the account of Paul teaching and engaging in dialogue at the school of Tyrannus. Tyrannus Foundation says the reference reflects its goal of creating a setting where people from different backgrounds can exchange ideas and develop creative work.

The use of “Angel” also connects the Awards with Los Angeles, where the program is based. The Awards were established to provide recognition opportunities for filmmakers using AI-supported production methods and to introduce their work to wider audiences.

2026 Selection Criteria

The 2026 selection was guided by five considerations: visual artistry, creative use of AI technology, storytelling ability, emotional impact, and the expression of hope and humanity.

According to the Foundation, this year’s submissions demonstrated a range of visual approaches and production techniques. The selection process also considered how those techniques supported narrative development and the overall audience experience.

The Foundation said the selected works reflect different approaches to AI filmmaking while maintaining an emphasis on storytelling, creative direction, and audience engagement.
