GDS Associates, Inc. (“GDS”), a market-leading provider of power consulting and advisory services to the U.S. utility industry, today announced that Miki Deric has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer. Miki will lead GDS’ strategy and continued development as a national power consulting and engineering platform. Earlier this year, GDS partnered with Littlejohn & Co. to support the company’s long-term growth strategy.
“We are pleased to welcome Miki to GDS as we continue investing in our people, expanding our capabilities, and supporting our clients,” said David Brian, President of GDS. “For 40 years, GDS has earned clients’ trust through technical excellence and a collaborative approach. Miki understands what makes the firm distinctive, and I look forward to building on that foundation with him.” David Brian will remain President, overseeing GDS’ people, operations, client relationships, and consulting work.
“Utilities are asking more of their planning and engineering advisors than ever,” said Miki Deric, CEO of GDS. “I am excited to join GDS as we grow alongside our clients while preserving the technical rigor and depth of expertise on which they rely.”
“Miki brings deep utility expertise, proven operating leadership, and a clear vision for growth. That combination makes him the right leader for GDS’ next phase,” said Brian Michaud, Managing Partner at Littlejohn & Co. “We are excited to support Miki and the GDS team as they expand the company’s capabilities, both organically and through acquisitions,” added Charles Leung, Managing Director at Littlejohn & Co.
Miki Deric brings 30 years of experience advising utility companies, industry suppliers, and associations across North America and Europe on strategic growth, operating model transformation, and technology modernization. Most recently, he led TRC Companies’ advisory expansion across Europe. Miki Deric began his career at Davies Consulting, where he advanced to managing partner, doubled the firm’s size, and led its successful acquisition by Accenture. At Accenture, he led a 300-person business unit responsible for the firm’s North American utilities strategy.
The appointment builds on a series of investments GDS has made over the past year to expand its capabilities, support clients, and broaden its service offerings. GDS’ leadership team will remain focused on organic growth and strategic opportunities that enhance the services GDS provides to utility clients nationwide.
